Figaro colour change from Lapis to Porsche Metallic Blue

This project has just been completed this week.  The customer was looking to change the colour of her Figaro as the paintwork has dulled over the years and this can be a problem on some Fig’s due to the heat in Japan and the fading paint.  We gave the customer a book of colour swatches and she came back to us with a Blue Pearl Porsche colour. 

After a day of very carefully stripping off chrome trim the car was sent off to our bodyshop.  If anyone is thinking of having a go at removing the trim themselves you need to be very very careful as some of the strips are obsolete and will be very expensive to replace with secondhand parts.  We take our time to make sure none of the trim gets damaged and that we have a selection of replacement parts just in case.

One week later the car comes back into the work shop and so begins the painstaking replacement of the trims using all brand new grommets to ensure the trim stays where it should.  Using the old grommets that are 25 years old and brittle will probably mean you have trim sticking up and not flush with the body.

As you can see from the pictures we are extremely pleased with how this one turned out.
